Amidst global outcry, the coup attempt has been dissolved, with international leaders expressing condemnation.

"We denounce any form of coup detat in Bolivia," stated Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

The Bolivian military official in question had previously governed Bolivia as de facto leader from 1980 to 1981, following a successful coup.
